Spring Ritual: Riding to the Sun Road
As road crews at Glacier National Park begin to clear the tons of snow from pavement in spring, bikers ride Going-to-the-Sun Road as far as plowing permits. Without cars on the road, cyclists can stop anywhere to soak up the views. The slower mode of climbing to Logan Pass allows for an intimacy: a chance to relish detail that would be missed in a car. Triple Arches is one of those locations with no place to pullover, but with a bike you can marvel the engineering in the arches up close. Biking is surely the best way to tour this National Historic Landmark.
