Writing from northwest Montana, Becky Lomax has specialized in stories about the outdoors—the environment, people, travel, and sports. Her words described collaring grizzly bears to hiking Glacier National Park's trails, backpacking southwest canyons to building mountain bike paths, niche ski areas to artists. She has conveyed the feeling of standing atop windy bluffs, watching golden eagles migrate, skiing in Rocky Mountain powder, and backpacking alongside mountain goats. As a photographer, she honed in on seasonal images to celebrate the outdoors from panoramic mountaintops to snowflakes, leaves, and mud.

She has written more than 450 stories for publications such as Smithsonian, Hemispheres, AAA Living, Backpacker, Running Times, Camping Life, National Wildlife, Telemark Skier, Cross Country Skier, National Ski Areas Association Journal, Northwest Travel, Montana Magazine,  Montana Outdoors, and Flathead Living. She covered ski resort news for OnTheSnow.com, a publication of Mountain News Corporation. She also has written for regional newspapers: Great Falls Tribune, Spokesman Review, and Flathead Beacon.
